Preciosa Lighting’s project at the Euroluce 2017 was a joy to behold for visitors to Milan Design Week. It was also well-received by professionals in the design field, winning both a Red Dot Award and a German Design Award. This month, we received word that Cultivation of Chandeliers. Since 1724 has also won an iF Design Award in the Interior Architecture discipline.
The concept presents Preciosa’s rich tradition of producing and designing chandeliers coupled with our contemporary outlook for the future of crystal and glass lighting. One of the showpieces of the exhibition was Crystal Biosphere, a playful piece, telling nature’s story though crystal and light. The installation consists of three concepts that create a harmonious whole but can also stand independently: Crystal Tree, Crystal Field, and Crystal Automata.
The iF Design Award is presented by the world’s oldest independent design organization, the iF International Forum Design. For the 2018 award, more than 6,400 entries from 54 countries competed for the honour. We were very pleased to learn that one of our most exciting initiatives from 2017 was praised by an expert panel of more than 60 design professionals.
