Crystal Galaxy

The Crystal Galaxy, designed by our designer, is a defining example of how a lighting installation can become one with its architectural environment. Following the Luzer Villa and Emerald Hills Villa, it marks another significant milestone in an ongoing collaboration with Lacasa Living.

The client's vision called for a familiar colour palette elevated by something new: a visual language evoking the heterogeneous, ever-shifting structure of the universe. This demanded irregularity, variety, and depth. These are qualities that resist perfection and, in doing so, achieve it.
Each crystal is a fragment of a star. Irregular and regular spheres move together in quiet choreography, glowing in tones of basalt black, nutmeg, camel, walnut leaf, clear and silver-lined petal. Their metallic surfaces catch and release injected LED light with a quality that can only be described as cosmic.
The fully integrated installation anchors the entire villa, visible from every room. It originates in the entrance hall, ascends to the upper floor, crosses a bridge, and descends into the main living area where it gathers above the dining table in a final, star-like constellation.

In her work, she enjoys combining an artistic approach with the principles of serial production.

I wanted to create an installation that exists beyond time, suspended between beginning and infinity. The installation evokes stars and their invisible bonds of gravity. They drift through space, endlessly circulating, guided by the rhythm of the galaxy. This is not a representation of the universe, but a reminder that time began with light.

A structural masterpiece in crystal

Crystal Galaxy redefines what a lighting installation can be. Rather than a decorative fixture, it functions as a fully integrated architectural element that is structural, spatial, and deeply considered.

 

The choice of Czech Bohemian crystal is deliberate. Few materials can match its precision or its capacity to interpret complex light and spatial structure with such nuance. Here, it does both.

The project brings traditional glassmaking into dialogue with contemporary structural thinking. Rather than a simplistic luminaire, each element of the the layered structure was engineered for balance, refined for precision, and crafted by hand. The result is not of a single discipline, but of artistic concept, structural logic, technological feasibility and technical craft working in unison.

 

The central structural challenge was one of paradox: to make something intricate feel weightless. Achieving that quality of lightness, while keeping the entire composition stable, required two distinct types of connecting crystal elements, each playing a precise role in the logic holding it all together.

The villa's interior speaks a modern language: functional, luminous, grounded in exceptional materials like marble, exotic wood, and glass on every elevation. The atmosphere is at once minimal and quietly luxurious. Crystal Galaxy was conceived to honour that spirit, drawing a symbolic line between the interior world, the surrounding landscape, and the city illuminated beyond.
