The Dubai Fountain is a defining experience in the city and can be seen from the Address Fountain Views hotel. Designers from HBA Dubai asked our designers to create a unique visual story for the property, referencing the quality craftsmanship of crystal installations. We designed installations for all three towers and created memorable crystal moments for guests.
The Address Fountain Views is located in a popular lifestyle district with close proximity to the Dubai Mall and the financial precinct. The serviced apartments and hotel are known for their sweeping views of Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain. Address Fountain Views is one of nine Address properties in Dubai by the Emaar Hospitality Group, a premium luxury hotel group. It was a pleasure to once again work with the developer, Emaar Properties, one of the leading real estate companies in the Middle East.
There’s something soothing about being near water. The gentle sounds and playful reflections bring a sense of peace. Preciosa designers Anežka Závadová and Petra Paušová wanted to introduce the lighthearted sparkle of sun dancing across the water. “We were inspired by the impression of the water,” said Ms. Závadová. “We reflected this abstract idea in the actual installations and repeated this story in all of the property’s lighting using a variety of design approaches.”
The sparkle and design that Preciosa Lighting brings to spaces can be discovered throughout the property’s three towers. The first of three Preciosa designs are in the towers’ lobbies. Hand-blown crystal stones were chosen for their organic look and feel. Many of the stones are illuminated from the inside and the installation creates a lovely wave of radiance flowing through the space. The stones were hand placed on a subtle metal frame to preserve the airyness of the design. The final look is a dazzling, elegant light spectacle. Unusual production work flowed through these designs, including working with aluminum netting and hand-blowing the irregular stone shapes.
The outline of the second design is a reflection pattern created by textured glass sheets which beautifully mimic the movement of the water. Six of these fixtures were created for the property’s lift lobbies. These chandeliers are nearly 2-metres wide and feature slumped glass. Here the slumped glass acts almost as a wave swirling within its frame.
The third design is a mix of metal and slumped glass with frita. Frita uses gas to infuse the glass with tiny bubbles, resulting in a textured look. The installation, located in the lobby for the serviced apartments, is a modern take on the reflection inspiration. Our skill and expertise is why we’re able to offer unique glass making techniques like slumped glass. We also like a challenge: adding frita to slumped glass was something we hadn’t had the opportunity to try before.
One of our favourite’s from the Collections portfolio is sparkling in the Tea Lounge. With Echo, reflection and form take on new meaning through unusual shapes and impressions. This chandelier is a new interpretation of our Historic chandelier, Eugene. Our Chandelier portfolio offers lighting for classical and modern interiors.
