Making of lighting installations for Caesars New Orleans
5. 2. 2025
When Harrah’s New Orleans underwent a rebranding to Caesars New Orleans, the
transformation was more than just a change in name—it was a complete
reinvention of the space and its story.
At the heart of this revamp was the creation of a fresh atmosphere that reflected the rich heritage of the Caesars brand while introducing a modern vibe that suited the vibrant, multicultural ethos of New Orleans.
Crucial to this ambition was Preciosa Lighting, whose bespoke luminaires would become an integral part of the venue’s new identity. But to reach that end, we had to start from the beginning.
The first time I heard about Preciosa Lighting? I guess it‘s every time we talk about custom lighting fixtures. Something that‘s high-end, Preciosa’s name always comes up.

8 bespoke lighting fixtures
From the very first meeting, Preciosa Lighting worked hand in hand with the Caesars New Orleans team, ensuring that their creative vision and specific requirements were not just understood but embraced. It wasn’t just about providing lighting solutions; the team at Preciosa knew that the lighting needed to reflect both the grandeur of Caesars as a global brand and the unique energy of New Orleans.
Then began a highly collaborative brainstorming process. Detailed sketches and conceptual designs emerged–from an enigmatic crystal dragon to a cascading acrylic centrepiece. The creative dialogue fuelled tweaks and iterations to ensure all views and suggestions were masterfully incorporated. Hand-drawn sketches became digital renderings of 8 bespoke fixtures which were finally brought to stunning life by master glassmakers at the Preciosa Lighting factory in the heart of Crystal Valley. The clients even flew down all the way just to see the fixtures being brought to life.

The multi-million dollar project has easily become the talk of the town. High praise is commonly heaped upon the custom Preciosa designs that evoke the drama and elegance that’s integral to the Caesar’s brand, and fitting to the energetic spirit of the city.
But this was only possible thanks to the journey of mutual trust and creative alignment. We are grateful to the Caesars New Orleans team and participating members of Rockwell Group, JCJ Architecture and Interior Image Group, for their constant support, encouragement and belief.
It took a symphony of human effort to create masterpieces that shall shine forever.
If you're going to do such a complex and large-scale project with a client, your collaboration needs to be built on a strong partnership and deep understanding.
We designed eight striking lighting pieces for Caesars Casino such as the enigmatic Crystal Dragon, the grand luminaire in the Centre bar and the Welcome Chandelier above Caesar's statue in the Main Entrance Lobby.
