The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles underwent a renovation including a full redesign of the hotel lobby, guestrooms, corridors, and Club Lounge. Led by Rottet Studio, Preciosa Lighting was brought in to bring refined lighting to a number of the updated spaces.
Interior designers took inspiration from a number of places, including the hotel’s downtown location, the adjacent sports, entertainment and conference centre, L.A. Live, as well as the city’s stylish Golden Age of Hollywood. All of this combined to create a classic Art Deco retreat with modern design touches. Preciosa Lighting helped with that vision, creating lighting in the main lobby, elevator lobbies, Club Lounge and Presidential Suite.
The most eye-catching installations are in the lobby. The striking chandeliers are custom designed with woven rods of warm metal, bringing to mind ornate bird nests. This design was brought into one of the elevator lobbies, while another three feature 2-tiered round chandeliers with a metal frame and suspended clear glass and clear acrylic round rods. This design is also included in the Club Lounge conference room. Three chandeliers were created for the Presidential Suite. These feature a 2-tiered structure using triangular glass rods. The top and bottom edges of the rods are angle cut for a sophisticated touch. A gold-finish metal band brings the components together.
