Promoting contemporary art and design

The Indian art and design scene is thriving. The AD Design Show proved this by bringing together high-end luxury brands and contemporary art and installations for a 3-day design experience in Mumbai. Visitors had a true luxe experience, discovering the latest from global and local design brands, a spectrum of artworks and a series of inspiring talks.

Preciosa Lighting Creative Director Michael Vasku gave a special talk covering computation and craftsmanship. Preciosa’s vision is to connect people through light, and our installations feature a range of clever innovations dedicated to doing just that.

One of the highlights of the show was the pop-up apartment inspired by Laura Hamilton. Visitors were able to ‘experience’ a contemporary interpretation of the icon’s Mumbai home. Here, we had on display one of our newest designs, Chromo. Designed in collaboration with Studio MUT, Chromo is an enticing table lamp which is a sculptural interpretation of chromotherapy, an ancient belief in the healing powers of colour and light.

“The AD Design Show proved once again some of the most exciting art and design is happening right now in India,” said Michaela McClelland, Managing Director, Preciosa Lighting. “This was a wonderful opportunity to connect with leading minds in the cultural and design communities for three days of perfectly curated brands and designs.”
