Private Residence

Preciosa Lighting works with architects, designers and developers in a number of different ways. Sometimes we are asked to produce lighting based on their design, sometimes we are asked to design lighting based on their inspiration. Best is when our designers are tasked with creating lighting with no advanced brief, simply using their creativity and skill to design something amazing. For a private villa in Dubai, La Casa Design Studio asked Preciosa to design and produce lighting with no other direction then it should be modern and fit their existing design proposal.

Five different spaces in the beachfront villa feature bespoke Preciosa lighting. Greeting guests is a geometric design with a bit of an Art Deco vibe. These triangular shapes were designed and developed specially for this project. The glass was frosted and then coloured which gives the pieces an almost textual appearance. A smaller version of this installation was replicated in the powder room. The tailored shape of these components was used in a different installation for the villa’s office. Here our designer decided on flat glass with a white cut, again adding a touch of texture to the lighting. A version of our Crystal Forest makes a sparkling statement in the staircase. Preciosa designer Kryštof Jelínek developed the concept, using more than 400 triangular crystal rods, about one-half frosted, one-half clear, along with crystal trimmings. Each component was carefully hung to create a shimmering shower of crystal between floors. Diners will enjoy their meal beneath a breezy canopy of hand-blown leaves in crystal and amber, the final Preciosa installation brightening this gorgeous villa.
