Six months isn’t a lot of time when it comes to a hotel renovation project. Studio 11 Design took on the creative challenge and gave the public spaces at the W Atlanta – Buckhead a fresh look. A chandelier by Preciosa in the main lobby set the colour tone and feel for the rest of the space. We were also pleased to create lighting for the lobby bar, ballroom, the Whiskey Bar, and guestrooms.
The chandelier in the main lobby consists of four gold-plated metal rings with teal coloured nylon strings suspended between the metal rings in three tiers. The outer two rings have integrated LED strips and opal acrylic diffusers. Studio 11 Design used the chandelier and its hues as its centrepiece and chose the rest of the space’s furniture and fabrics using it as inspiration.
Other lighting in the main lobby space is connected through black matte highlights. Four pendants, two floor lamps and three spotlights above the bar create a cohesive look throughout. In the ballroom, six chandeliers feature a metal structure and shades with frosted acrylic diffusers. This design was replicated in wall sconces both in the ballroom and the prefunction areas.
For the Whiskey Bar, Preciosa created 13 V-shaped metal wall sconces which have been artistically placed along one wall. Also here is a chandelier with an antique mirror effect glass shade and a metal frame. In one of the entryways on the lower level, guests will discover a modular-shaped chandelier featuring antique brass metal rods which end in clear solid acrylic diffusers. Throughout the guest rooms and suites, Preciosa lighting can be found, including pendants and wall sconces.
