Viceroy Chicago, located in the exclusive Gold Coast neighborhood, marks Viceroy’s first destination in the Windy City. It is located on the site of the 1920s-era Cedar Hotel, among historic mansions and just steps to the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan. Viceroy partnered with the Chicago developer, Convexity Properties, known for their work re-imagining the region’s historic buildings, to keep the Cedar Hotel’s original brick and terra cotta façade so that guests can experience the city’s storied architectural past. With bold interiors designed by TAL Studio, Viceroy Chicago is poised to deliver a bespoke experience reflecting the art, lifestyle and design of its vibrant landscape. Preciosa, in collaboration with Las Vegas based TAL Studio designed, produced and installed lightings for several interiors.
The Devereaux rooftop bar - perched 18 stories high for a sweeping panorama of Great Lake views and Chicago’s iconic, soaring skyline – is adorned with pendants and table lamps from Preciosa. The hotel also offers 3,600 square feet of meeting and event space. The 4th floor pre-function area is decorated by our wall sconces. Pendants in the ballroom are composed of hand-blown crystal glass balls in 60, 80 and 100 mm diameters and in grey, champagne and white frosted colours. Integrated dimmable LED light sources allow the atmosphere in the ballroom to be changed according to needs and wishes. The Reception is decorated with Preciosa table lamps and a chandelier – a light bronze 3 m diammeter crystal ring. More than 300 crystals, 8 to 13 cm long, shine spectacularly, all lit by the LED strip on which they are placed. The Chandelier on the 1st Floor Library appears from below to be a blooming flower adorned with alabaster petals.
