The Majestic Princess℠
Cruise Ship

The Majestic Princess℠, built in Italy by the Fincantieri Group, became part of the Carnival Corporation’s Princess Cruises’ fleet in March 2017. A 330-metre (1,083 feet) Royal-class cruise ship that accommodates more than 4,900 passengers and crew, she represents a new technological benchmark in Europe and worldwide for her innovative layout and top-quality state-of-the-art technology.

As an expert in custom maritime luxury luminaries, Preciosa was asked to design and produce chandeliers to enhance the regal atmosphere in two of the cruise liners’ restaurants. In the upper deck dining area, two concentric circles measuring more than four metres (15 feet) and one and a half metres (five feet) respectively were created from six-sided twisted crystal glass tubes. Tube length varied to create an effect of sparkling illuminated waves. These appear to float around a central pool of light, perfectly underlining the oceanic environment.

The lighting in the Symphony Dining Room was similarly conceptualized, though here the colours match the warm hues of the elegant surroundings. The twisted hexagonal glass rods that make up both the outer and inner circles gradate from amber on top to clear crystal on the bottom, giving the chandelier a golden hue.
