Ritz-Carlton, South Beach Miami

Miami, USA

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach was hit hard by a hurricane in 2017 and had to close for more than two years. Reopened again, the revamped hotel pays homage to its city, drawing on the colour, the flora and the attitude that is Miami. Preciosa worked with two designers on this project. Meg Sharpe Interiors oversaw the lobby, the Lapidus Bar, restaurant, pool, club and spa, while HBA Miami took charge of the guestrooms and meeting spaces.

The Lapidus Bar brings Miami’s classic cocktail scene to life. We worked hard to meet the designer’s lighting vision for the rich and warm space infused with deep browns, bronzes, and golds. Our chandelier features nine lightweight hand-pressed metal leaves (three sizes) with a brass surface finish. Preciosa developed a custom mould to create the organic look the designer was going for. Each leaf features a hand-blown gold speckled glass sphere.

Hanging bedside in the guestrooms are hand-blown and hand-cut crystal pendants. The look is elegant and highlights the sophistication of the rooms. In the entrance lobby a lighting curve of brass and opal set the space’s tone. We created a special base plus optical opal glass spheres for this graceful chandelier.
