Preciosa Lighting participates in a variety of design fairs around the world. We never know who we may be inspiring, or when that inspiration will strike. At Euroluce 2017, design studio Antrobus + Ramirez Design Miami experienced our own Crystal Forest. They remembered it and presented it to one of their clients. The dynamic design and density of the installation was intriguing to the client, who was building a luxury high-rise condominium complex in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
The Muse Luxury Residences is an ultra-luxurious, boutique residential condo tower with 68 oceanfront residences. It is the combined work of designer Carlos Ott and architectural firm Sieger Suarez. What was compelling to the design team about Crystal Forest was the way the twisting nature of the light mirrored the design of the building tower. Preciosa’s designs are completely customizable based on a space’s size, usage and design. This Crystal Forest composition is special to the Muse. The patterning of the chandelier was inspired by the twisting form and movement of the tower designed by Mr. Ott. The designers wanted to continue the narrative and that sense of motion and bring it from the tower into the lobby.
Crystal Forest uses a mix of frosted and clear glass triangular components. The shape of the Muse’s version is unique because of its extra curvature and size, dominating the lobby at more than seven metres long and two meters wide.
