The Mondrian hotel brand has opened its first New York property, the Mondrian Park Avenue. The building was originally constructed in 1918 for offices; five floors were added during the hotel conversion elevating the property to a 20-story hotel. The interiors were done by sbe Dakota Development and Bermanfalk, with Philippe Starck acting as the cooperating designer.
The hotel’s décor focuses on capturing the energy of the ‘city that never sleeps.’ Preciosa delivered 700 wall scones for their guest rooms; two bedside lights and two next to the television. The rooms’ design is stylish and contemporary featuring both comfort and convenience to ensure the perfect stay and ideal sleeping conditions. Preciosa’s lighting gives off a classy glow with simple silver bases and fresh white paper shades. For this project, Preciosa cooperated with the interior design studio Bermanfalk.
