Europe and the Rocky Mountains sound like an unlikely inspirational duo. The Simeone Deary Design Group drew on those two elements for the look and feel of the Le Méridien Denver Downtown. Featuring artwork by local artists and a lobby reinterpreted as a social gathering space, Le Méridien is a stimulating addition to the downtown Denver scene.
Preciosa Lighting has worked with the Simeone Deary Design Group in the past and appreciates their unconventional design touch. We were please to create chandeliers, lamps and wall sconces in public areas throughout the hotel. One of the most-eye-catching of Preciosa’s installations is the custom sculptural chandelier in the lobby. Inspired by local cottonwood trees, this installation is made from Preciosa’s own raw crystal.
Many of the hotels inventive restaurants are also lit up with a glow from Preciosa. In the Hub, Le Méridien’s social space, the bar has a custom pendant light with a brass metal body and decorative, hand-blown glass bulbs. Here also is another original installation. This singular light is reminiscent of a celestial being and comprised of interwoven shafts of glass and metal. Other special restaurant lighting includes a 3-tier metal chandelier with decorative coloured glass shades and bulbs and a rectangular pendant crafted from antique bronze and glass. Preciosa's advance skill and mastery of materials also led us to create an over-the-bar custom shelving system for glassware with integrated down lighting.
From extraordinary wall sconces in the ballroom to desk lamps in the reception and the Hub, Preciosa is pleased to have helped Le Méridien with their distinctive design.
