Perfectly located Hotel Nikko in the centre of bustling San Francisco underwent a near complete renovation in honour of its 30th anniversary. Interior designer firm Hirsch Bedner Associates spearheaded the work, taking inspiration from Nikko’s Japanese heritage and the fluid lines of a traditional kimono. The result is contemporary and sophisticated.
The hotel’s lobby sets the style tone for all of the interiors. Elegant and bright, it’s comfortable and dignified. Weaving through the space is an installation by Preciosa Lighting. With a structure reminiscent of calligraphy, the light sweeps across the ceiling, much like the swish of a women’s kimono. Made from crystal components, the sculptural element is the perfect welcome.
