Literary lovers will relish the décor of the Graduate Iowa City in Iowa, USA. The Graduate hotel chain has properties in college towns across the US and is known for combining local flavour and a sense of fun into their design. Preciosa Lighting added to this entertaining nature with a variety of lights in many of the public spaces.

The hotel’s Poindexter Café is a whimsical nod to both students and writers with more than 170,000 pencils covering the walls. Preciosa created study worthy table lamps featuring opaque opal glass shades in a soft brown hue, combined with a white metal body and polished chrome metal base. Strung over the bar are complementary pendants.

The property is pleased to offer a number of communal gathering spaces throughout the hotel. Just off the lobby is a small room with a long table, perfect for reviewing travel plans or organizing a study group. Giving light to the activities is a Preciosa chandelier with 14 green glass shades with white interiors placed on a black metal frame. In the centre of the lobby, a large conversation area is brightened by three Preciosa lamps featuring floral textile shades.
