Bacon Nation is a Las Vegas restaurant inside The D Las Vegas Casino Hotel. It’s an American diner-inspired venue with a not-surprising love for bacon. We worked with The D’s design team to bring the perfect lighting to this fun restaurant.
A fusion of functionality and design
Abby Thompson, the Director of Design at The D, wanted the Bacon Nation space to feel fresh, comfortable, and modern, providing the nostalgia and familiarity of a classic American diner. She and her team had a lot of fun with the restaurant’s artwork, playing up the bacon theme. We added five bespoke chandeliers to the space.
“A good design is nothing without great lighting. And, in my opinion, lighting is not just functional; it is also another form of artwork within a space,” Ms. Thompson said. “The light fixtures provided by Preciosa are a perfect combination of modern and classic design. The fixtures provide wonderful ambient lighting while adding an essential layer of “art” to the design.”
Tailored to Perfection
There are four custom chandeliers with cylindrical brass centres. The slender, bent, brass arms spider out and hold eight opal-frosted glass globes. A more than six-meter fixture stretches over the lunch counter and features a curved, zig-zag brass metal base. Opal glass globe shades are nestled along the length. Our third fixture is a custom 3-tiered pendant. It has white opal glass globes that gently rest within a spherical antique brass frame.
“The Preciosa team was a delight to work with,” Ms. Thompson said. “Shop drawings and finish samples were quickly provided and without much need for adjustment. All of the fixtures arrived on time and in perfect condition. I look forward to our next collaboration with the Preciosa team.”
